On my path to optimum health at 50, I have been studying under Dr Robert Morse, ND. Foundational to his natural biochemical viewpoint: treat acidosis by eating an alkaline diet, increase herbs for amping up of the lymph/adrenals/kidneys/skin/endocrine systems. I felt different after 3 days with this new focus. The #1 thing I noticed is no more brain fog!
The SAD diet, standard american diet, is acidic, and causes the conditions/diseases we carry. Most of us have bodies that suffer, one way or another from an overall acidic condition, which creates the environment for toxicity that causes all conditions/diseases. Not to mention tons of reactivity to various foods like meat, dairy, sugar, gluten –even enzymes!
My new focus: regaining an alkaline system that will be supercharged to fight toxicity including all bad gut bacterias, all inflammatory conditions (IBS, mucus, brain fog, aching joints, headaches), and disease. Want to create a system that regenerates every cell in a healthy way. How? Mainly an alkaline diet, with lots of raw ingredients. If your digestion has been comprised, you can’t eat all raw, your poor bod just won’t handle the load. But eat as many alkaline foods as possible (google a big list, its easy to find).
Examples of Alkalining Vegetables: Beets, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Celery, Cucumber, Kale, Lettuce, Onions, Peas, Peppers, Spinach
Examples of Alkalizing Fruits: Apple, Banana, Berries, Cantaloupe, Grapes, Melon, Lemon, Orange, Peach, Pear, Watermelon
Alkalizing Protein: Almonds, Chestnuts, Tofu
Alkalizing Spices: Cinnamon, Curry, Ginger, Mustard, Sea Salt
Consume as much raw as you can, but don’t worry if you need to cook stuff for now. Make warm soups, heat up apple sauce, and I do eat eggs every few days, and baked fresh fish when I want some bigger proteins. I cannot drink smoothies–too dense and cold for my body to digest.
Several other quick tips: get to an herbal store and start taking tinctures for you adrenals and your lymph~major sources for energizing and sanitizing your blood and your lymph. Gotta detox.
If you’re into herbs, be sure to seek out Dr. Morse’s website and his “fab 4” for the lymph/endocrine/kidneys/bowels. Crazy strong, so be ready for rapid shifts.
Don’t be rigid about diet and little bits of this or that. Try having a cheat day once a week, and let yourself indulge–it actually helps release the tension.
Take a 30 minute brisk walk 5 days a week.
Brush your skin for 3 minutes/day with a loofah and bathe every few days in sea salts and mustard.
You will probably feel clearer, with more energy in a few short days. I could not believe how fast things started shifting for me. Our bodies are healing machines and all you have to do is get the junk out via elimination and lymph, and get the good stuff IN–via alkaline foods and herbs. All the best to you!
