Kill Candida Naturally!

Along with creating art, I’m wanting to continue to update followers who, like me, are healing Gut Issues. Today’s post is on Candida.

Candida albicans is a naturally occurring, and usually benign yeast, that grows in the gastrointestinal tract. When it over-proliferates in the body, though, the symptoms can be debilitating:

Anxiety
Fatigue/lethargy
Brain fog
Shortness of breath
Lack of concentration
Recall memory problems
Bloating
Nausea
itchy skin
Gas
Diarrhea
Some acid reflux
Heart palpitations
Lowered blood pressure
Weight gain
Heat intolerance

One way to diagnose yourself is to check out your tongue for a white coating, which is candida:

What causes an overgrowth of Candida? A crummy diet, stress, and prolonged exposure to any of these:

Birth control pills

Antibiotics

Toxic metals (non-organic foods, mercury dental fillings)

Here is a list of the regime I used to eradicate an overgrowth of Candida in 60 days. Before I tell you, let me just say that the HARDEST THING IN THE WHOLE DIET IS ELIMINATING SUGAR. Okay, I’ve got that off my chest, and I’ll share with you how I finally gave up the biggest addiction ever.

1. Eliminate all sugars and straches and fruits from your diet (they feed the candida)

2. Herbs for eradicating Candida from your gut:

Oregano — Oil of oregano has many antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Garlic — Fresh, crushed garlic is a potent antimicrobial and immune booster.
Grapefruit seed extract — The phytochemicals in citrus seeds have been found to have potent antimicrobial properties
Berberine — This potent yellow plant extract comes from goldenseal and barberry
Tannins — These are the astringent compounds found in tea and the bark of trees
Isatis tinctoria — This Chinese herb can be a useful adjunct to treating intestinal imbalances
Caprylic acid — This is another useful compound for treating yeast

Monolaurin -Derived from coconut oil, anti fungal, anti viral

 

3. If you don’t feel changes within 30 days, you may need to consult with a Naturopath and take an anti fungal like Nystatin

I also recommend taking two to three activated charcoal capsules every four to six hours during the day. Taking a soluble fiber supplement that contains guar gum, alginates, psyllium seed, or pectin to bind to yeast toxins before bed can also be helpful in reducing the “die off” reaction. I took Molybdenum for that and it was a major help to keep functioning!

Okay. I’ve been dodging the sugar, honey, sweetener thing for years. I substituted raw honey for the past 2 years and thought I was all saintly. Time to get real and here’s how I did it: Erythritol, Xylitol, and Stevia. You can buy them all affordably here. Grind them in a coffee grinder and use 3 parts Erythritol to 1 part Xylitol for baking or sweetening stuff.

Here is a killer, killer, killer recipe for grain free, sugar free BROWNIES:

3/4 cups Almond Flour
1/4c coconut floUr
1/2 c shredded coconut
3 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup erythritol (powdered)
1/2+ cup cacao powder

1/2 cup salted grass-fed butter
1/2 cup coconut oil–add last

6 large eggs (room temperature)
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp chocolate liquid stevia
1 scoop chocolate or vanilla protein powder
2 tsp instant coffee

3/4 cup Lily’s Chocolate Chips

Instructions:
2 small pans
oven to 350F.
